Run the setup.exe program to install the main program. If the setup program doesn't run for any reason, see section 2 below. To install a Dick Smith Electronics (DSE) USB to Serial Port adaptor, see section 4 below. See Section 5 below for information about some support programs. ================================================================================= 1. Then find the Punchnums.txt and the Tagnums.txt file for your system. In a hardware-related installation CD, they may be in the "Support" subdirectory. Copy them into the directory where RogaineSCORE was set up. (Probably Program Files/Rogaine Scoring). If the CD or Zip file where you got this README was not issued with your hardware, then the files on the CD will not work with your hardware. If these files exist, delete them. Then create new ones as described in Chapter 12 of the Manual. If you want to install the tutorial, copy the entire Tutorial directory and its subdirectories to any convenient location on your C:\ drive. Go to the tutorial folder on your hard drive and run the tutorial from there. ================================================================================= 2. If you are installing the tutorial and have not run the Setup program, OR if you couldn't run Setup, copy the Tutorial folder to your hard drive. Then copy the five files MSCOMM32.OCX, mscomct2.ocx, MCI32.OCX, MSCOMCTL.OCX, comdlg32.ocx, and comctl32.ocx to your Windows\system32 folder. If these files already exist, use the one with the most recent date. If you want to run the RogaineSCORE program without the tutorial, copy it, the five .wav files, and any .txt files to a new directory and run it from there. ================================================================================= 3. All the manuals are included in the Tutorial directory. NOTE: Two files, Tagnums.txt and Punchnums.txt, exist in the Tutorial directory. DO NOT use these to replace the ones that you have created from your hardware. ================================================================================= 4. The Drivers for DSE USB Erial ports are contained in the Drivers\Windows folder. Plug your USB adapter into a USB port. If nothing happens, drivers may already be installed, as in later versions of Windows. If the "FOUND NEW HARDWARE" Wizard appears, follow these options: Don't connect to Windows Update. Install from a specific location. Browse to D:\Drivers\Windows (where D: is your CD Drive) and continue. ================================================================================= 5. There are a number of programs and files availabe in the "Support" Directory. One of these (BonusEditor.exe" is an editor for creating "Bonus" schemes. These are described in Section 14.5 of the Manual. Another is an Excel file called DataSource.xls which you can use as a template for entering your competitor information and saving it in text format. It contains a Macro (Ctrl + shift + T) to create SpreadSheet.txt =================================================================================
